Don't use this: "Setting > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings" Bad things happen!!
The easiest way to remove all content is a restore. Otherwise, it's one-at-a-time manual delete.
If you have 4.3.3 version SHSH blobs, it can be restored, jailbreak'd, and everything is deleted.

Good. 4.3.3 shsh blobs are saved.
Are you using an official Apple authorized sim (AT&T in US)?
If no, a custom firmware is required. The procedure is different.
If yes, download 4.3.3 firmware and redsnow 0.9.6rc19 from links in signature.
Start Tiny Umbrella, press start TSS Server, Verify TSS server running.
Press shift(PC)/option(Mac), click restore w/iTunes. In new window select 4.3.3 firmware.
Finished and restored to standard Apple.
To jailbreak, run redsnow, select 4.3.3, check one (1) option 'install Cydia'
Done.

That's ok. Redsnow will activate the phone and add Cydia.
The instructions will still work.
The Gevey sim can be added later to unlock.

I saved a backup with nothing on it. Restore it with the back up n everything should get deleted like a new iPhone.

That's a great idea
. Be sure to use a different name for the empty backup and the real one
Was thinking about this a bit more. The normal stuff is empty (music, photos, contacts, phone records, etc). What about the stored iTunes account email address?Last edited by Mes; 09-11-2011 at 03:05 PM.

You can always open settings and delete the account info.
There might be a file that stores those kind of information. But I don't believe so.
What I normally do for friends that ask to wipe their data but keep cydia is using that method. Afterwards I go through and clear any thing else manually.

After a restore, I would set up phone as new. Give it a crazy name like blank, and backup.
The restore again, this time give it a normal name use that one for everything.

question
I read this thread carefully.. but i want to ask you one more time (seems like you know what you're doing). I have a iPhone 4G 4.3.3 JB-ed but i'm using a Gevey Sim because it's locked in some unknown country( i suppose T-Mobile Germany ) . Well sometimes it's kinda slow and i want to do a clean up.. I heard Erasing&Reseting from the iPhone does bad things. I want to be sure if i do it with the ofw 4.3.3 from itunes then jb-it with redsn0w will still keep my 4.10.01 baseband and allow the gevey to work ?
thank you in advance.
