iPhone 3GS Jailbreak help ?

Hi I have been out of the loop for a while and was looking for some quick advise?

I have been given a iphone 3GS by a friend that wants it restoring and possible Jailbroken.

it is currently on 4.3.5 and 05.16.02 and is model number MC132B, i will be using Widows to do this.

So can you please advise if this is the latest firmwear for this devise and is it Jailbreakable or are we out of look.

It has never been jailbroken and has no blobs saved.

Could somebody please tell me if its possible and point me to a guide.

Downgrade to 4.1 using iTunes.
Then update to iPad baseband for unlock. ( google disadvantages before updating to iPad bb )

Do you need a carrier unlock?
If so, DONT UPGRADE TO 5.0 (yet).

Jailbreak should be possible on 4.3.5 or 5.0 but right now it's "tethered" jb only, which is an enormous pain.

Your best bet is to save SHSH blobs with TinyUmbrella right now,
and then wait a bit until an untethered JB is released for 4.3.5 or 5.0.
It might be a few weeks, or it might be more or less than that.

If you don't need a carrier unlock, you can upgrade to 5.0 now-
but a Jailbreak will be more functional and work better at 4.3.5.
If you don't save your SHSH blobs now, you won't ever be able to restore to 4.3.5 later, so do that ASAP.
