Hi all,

Long story short. I have an iphone 4

Had 4.3.3 and managed untethered jailbreak with redsnow. All good.

then thought I would be clever and install ios5 bete 5.... worked, but never could get it activated.

So thought I would downgrade back to 4.3.3..... but had many many problems and eneded up on 4.3.5 via itunes restore.

In the process I had to uninstall itunes and re-install and also change the host file details which I have since put back to standard.

Therefore, as far as i am aware I have a standard ios 4.3.5 iphone 4.

What are my options ? I want untethered jailbreak on 4.3.3 really ? can i downgrade and if so how. I know nothing about shsh blobs or where I may find them on my pc or if I even have them ?

SHSH blobs are required to restore any non-current iOS (except 3GS 4.1).
Download and run Tiny Umbrella (link below, post #1), advanced tab,
... check 'Request SHSH From Cydia', then Save SHSH, give it a min to finish;
... uncheck 'Request SHSH From Cydia', then Save SHSH, give it a min to finish.
... In the General tab, what SHSH blobs are displayed?

If you iDevice is jailbroken and working, open Cydia.
At the top, look for a line starting with "SHSH: iOS "
The numbers (if any) shown after are blobs Cydia saved for you automatically.
Both TU and Cydia should match . Close Cydia

Thanks for that bit of advice.

I dont currently have my phone jailbroken its just standard 4.3.5 via itunes restore.

I did the tiny unbrella like u mentioned and got the following in my list of shsh's.

iPhone4 4.3.3 (8J2)
iPhone4 4.3.5 (8L1)
iPhone4 5.0b1 (9A5220p)
iPhone4 5.0b2 (9A5248d)
iPhone4 5.0b3 (9A5259f)
iPhone4 5.0b4 (9A5274d)
iPhone4 5.0b5 (9A5288d)
iPhone4 5.0b6 (9A5302b)

So all I need to do now is find a way to downgrade to 4.3.3 and then I know how to do an untethered jailbreak using redsnow.

Can someone help to get my iphone 4 back to 4.3.3 now ?

Because you installed beta 5, I recommend creating a custom firmware.

Use the latest Pwnage (Mac) or Sn0wbreeze (PC) + Expert mode to build the custom firmware.
If with an authorized carrier (SIM), uncheck '[H]activate'
Continue w/Pwnage or Sn0wbreeze to enter pwnd-DFU mode...

Start Tiny Umbrella, click advanced tab,
.... click TSS server. Verify TSS server is running.

Shift/option click restore, select custom firmware w/iTunes.
No iTunes errors are expected.

OK I got 4.3.3 ipsw file and now I need to open snowbreeze and creat custom firmware.

What options should I be looking at or choosing ?

Use Expert mode and the default settings .... EXCEPT:

If you are with an authorized carrier (ie: AT&T in US), uncheck '[H]activate'.

Mes, since his bb has been updated, choosing the update bb will it change the bb back to 04.10.xx ? From what i understand from TU, the bb has to be the same in order for the error 1013 not to pop up.
Besides, restoring to cfw of 4.3.3 already bypass the bb check, in my opinion, the iphone 4 bb update is not neccessary, i may be wrong

Tried the above mut getting 1600 error code when with itunes.

The phone was not put into 'pwnd-DFU mode correctly.

Did you use Sn0wbreeze or Pwnagetool?
Start again, and follow the count-down timer closer and look for the success message.

ok i got it to work, but after it finished I now have a 4.3.3 phone with Cydia, but everything else on the phone has gone... no numbers, notes, pics etc ?

Can i get it back without using itunes restore back to 4.3.5 ?

Those items (notes, picts, contacts, sms) are restored from a previous backup. However, iTunes does not restore a backup with a 'higher' version. If you have those items sync'd to Google or iCal or .... they can be recovered.

There are a few web programs which 'extract' the files from a computer backup. I don't care much for 'em, but some use.

An iTunes sync will recover the music, apps, etc.

Having Cydia installed does not effect tethered or untethered. 4.3.3 is an untethered jailbreak
