Default Trying to get to 4.2.1. Advice?

So I've been searching and searching for the better part of the night, and I decided to just ask here.

What I have is a jailbroken iPhone 4 running 4.1. Lately this guys been extremely slow, and the home button requires multiple presses to even do anything. My plan is to do a full restore (delete everything, clean slate) and upgrade to 4.2.1, or whatever you guys think is best.

I have everything I want backed up, and I have the proper SHSH for 4.2.1.

Could anyone point me in the right direction here? It's starting to get really frustrating with all the outdated info.

    Thanks!

    Don't you have 4.3.3 shsh ?

You can restore to 4.2.1 again if you wish with your 4.2.1 blob.

Yes, I have this as well. My real question is how do I completely wipe the phone and start anew with 4.2.1 or 4.3.3

A restore will put your iphone into factory default settings

You need tiny umbrella to help you to verify your blob while restoring through itunes

Right so i have Umbrella running, and I have a 4.2.1 i downloaded. I go into iTunes and shift-click restore and load the file, but it says it fails.

Are there any real benefits to having any other firmware besides 4.2.1? I just want something that works.
