3.1.3 upgrade to 4.0.1

I want to upgrade to 4.0.1 from 3.1.3 on my 3g, not 3gs, so I can still use jailbreakme.com. How can I do this without using DFU mode?? My sleep/power button is not working.

If you have 4.0.1 shsh , then using tss server to restore to 4.0.1 , you don't need dfu. Then do your jailbreak.

**** I don't have the ShSh for 4.0.1 only 4.1 and 4.2.1.

Both 4.1 & 4.2.1 requires you to put iphone into dfu mode, you have a problem here.
