Apple continues to 'sign' 4.1 SHSH blobs

Apple is signing 4.1 iOS for 3G/3GS/iPT3G iDevices.

Always check available SHSH blobs with Tiny Umbrella before doing anything. A locally saved blob may save you from an unwanted tethered 4.3.5 jailbreak.

4.1 untethered is better than 4.3.5 tethered

I guess Apple allows you to restore to 4.1 because there are tons of 3g and 3gs iphones with Ipad Basebands and can't restore to stock or have no other shsh blobs.

its funny if you go to ishshit and change your device from an iphone 4 to a 3gs and select 4.1 ios bc it saves the blobs, even though you cant use it of course.

It is true, i can still download 4.1 shsh blob from TU.
Apple has his reason to do this.
So nobody can have a stucked iphone.

I had two sign 4.1 for my customers this week and was able to drop down from 4.3.5 both times.

Apple wants to keep its good reputation by not turning away iphones with ipad bb and no blob. The employees can tell them since you have ipad bb which voids your warranty but you can still get it going by restoring to 4.1

I still think I am bad luck as I was never able to get the 4.1 firmware or blobs for a 3GS that I had. Ended up updating it to 4.2.1 and selling it

Yes. AT&T USA never jailbroken + 1 AT&T USA that was jailbroken back in the 3.x days

I don't remember the date. I spoke about it in a previous thread but I know it was fairly recently. I wanna say about a week or two ago. I don't get many 3GS' anymore but the last one I had I just ended up upgrading to 4.2.1 and selling it fairly quickly.

Its not Apple doing it. Its cydia that is able to give you the 4.1 SHSH. If you were to tell tiny umbrella to save SHSH from Apple it wouldnt be able to save your 4.1 SHSH. Getting them from cydia it can. This is only for 3GS and its too technical for me to explain why this happening. Orby could probably tell you, he explained it to me once.

Simon .... I did tell TU to retrieve from Apple ... and was successful. Either it's getting from Apple or Tiny Umbrella is coded wrong.

I successfully retrieved 4.1 SHSH blobs from Apple for 4 iPhones, 2ea 3Gs and 2ea 3GS's.
Nothing else, just 4.1

Didn't try point hosts to Apple. But got from apple, then used TU. Restore 3GS successful.

Whatever is happening ... it's good We can take advantage of it

Well I have known we can get SHSH for 4.1 for 3GS for months now. I always just assumed it was cydia doing its thing like before when it was able to get 4.0.1 SHSH when 4.0.2 was the current firmware. When I have a little more time I will test this out. I have a 3GS but cant play with it until I get back home this weekend.

EDIT: Just quickly tried it with my 3GS but pulled the cord after the verification since I cant afford to restore it right now. Seems Apple really is still signing 4.1 for 3GS as it went to the preparing iPhone part after verifying SHSH.
