Default iPhone 4, downgraded to 4.3.3 RECOVERY LOOP for 5 days. Fixrecovery43 doesn't work

    Hey all,

I have an iPhone 4 that is now sadly upgraded to 4.3.4. I am trying/have been trying to downgrade to 4.3.3 in order to jailbreak, but I've had no luck. I have my SHSH for 4.3.3 and after downgrading with TU's TSS server running, I get error 1013 and am stuck in recovery mode. Nothing I've done has successfully gotten me out. Fixrecovery hasn't helped as it successfully runs and kicks me back into recovery.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Did you put your iphone into normal dfu and then run fix recovery 43.exe file ?

I put it into DFU mode after it was in recovery mode due to the 1013 error. So to answer your question, yes, I think I did put it into normal DFU and then ran fixrecovery43 and it ran finely on my screen, and then I was right back to recovery.

Look at this thread , post #18 it should work or try on a different computer. iPhone 4 4.3.3 can't turn off - stuck in DFU

I have done this myself with a pc as well. It has something to do with your computer or usb cord.

I tried it again following those steps on my mac. I have no access to another computer unfortunately. I got the same problem when running fixrecovery43. It runs in my terminal window on my mac, then runs on my iPhone screen. But then my iPhone boots up once again in recovery mode. Any ideas as to why this is happening on my computer?

I'll list the steps I had done:
    Opened TU
    Ran TSS Server
    Quit, reopened iTunes
Put iPhone running 4.3.4 in DFU mode
    Restored to 4.3.3
    Error 1013, recovery mode
    Ran fixrecovery43, no luck

    When error 1013 pops up
Put your recovery iPhone into a normal dfu mode
    Then run fix rec 43.

Normal dfu : with iphone still plug in , close error box, close iTunes .
Hold both buttons for 10 secs and let go Power button but hold home button for another 10 secs or the screen turns black .

I thought I was putting it into a normal DFU mode but maybe not. What exactly should I do after error 1013 for normal DFU mode?

Didn't work. Fixrecovery43 ran fine, but after I was once again still in recovery mode. I'm all out of ideas I don't know why it's not working.

Do you think it'll work if I just bring it over in recovery mode already downgraded to 4.3.3 just to run fixrecovery43 on his computer?

Yes, make sure you turn recovery mode into dfu mode and run fix rec 43 on his computer.

Try changing usb port or usb cable.

Since you are already stucked, why don't you restore to 4.3.5 and then downgrade again.

I'm now on 4.3.5 and I don't want to risk having to go through this process again.

Only if you don't mind, would you list the exact steps I should do from start to finish to downgrade now from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3?

    Run TU
    Highlight ur device
Make sure you see ur 4.3.3 shsh in TU
    Start TSS server
    Put iPhone into dfu mode
Run iTunes : shift + restore to 4.3.3
    Error 1013 pops up
    Close error box
Put iPhone into dfu mode again
    Run fix recovery 43
A terminal screen will run some scripts
    iPhone reboots into Emergency

Okay I'll be giving it one last try tonight. What computer do you reccommend I try it on?

Also what should my TU advanced settings be? I know there is an option to check off to request SHSHs from Curia rather than apple, should it be checked or unchecked?

The script should run about 2 mins, you can try check and uncheck : set hosts file to cydia in TU to see if it works. But I doubt it is going to make any diff as you are running an exe file.
Update your vista if u have not done so . It is possible your fix Rec 43 is crashing.

I used win 7 and it works like a charm . Try running fix 43 in xp2 compatibilty mode

I had the same problem with urs. Iphone 4 GSM downgraded from 4.3.4/4.3.5 to 4.3.3 then got the 1013 error and tried everything on TinyUmbrella, recboot, etc

    But now try this:

    1. go The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    2. download tinyumbrella-5.00.07.exe there(newest version)
    3. Just restore ur iphone again but this time in tiny umbrella go to advanced tab.
4.check the update iphone 4 baseband.
    5. Start TSS server and restore.
    6. IT works

ANYONE WHO RELIES ON A SOFT UNLOCK SOLUTION MUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS.

For anyone else that is not worried about preserving their baseband, you can use the new TinyUmbrella to avoid this recovery mode loop altogether when downgrading.

+1, correct. Once the baseband is matched, you will not error at 1013.
