i tried to jailbreak with redsn0w.. it kept on crashing half way through.
however i must say im in a totaly deeper S*** right now. i tried using sn0wbreez 2.0.2 with a custom ipsw 3.1.2 , once the restore is complete, the phone didnt restart, and im left with a dead iphone. when connected to itunes it says recovery mode, however nothing worked to kick it out (even trying to restore again !!). Do i declare it DEAD
?!?

If you are restoring to 3.xx, point your hosts file towards apple server for verification , you can do this using TU

the hosts file is intact, it should be pointing to apple server by default right?
didnt get what you mean with tiny umbrella, isnt it used for kicking out of recovery, tryed that and didnt work

If you have TU in your computer, TU is used to saved and grab shsh blob both from Apple or Cydia. You can find the option in Advance tab. In General Tab, you will see your blob if you have click save shsh. In log tab, you can see what is happening. If your TU has check in set hosts file to cydia, then it will automatically point to cydia. It does more than just kick it out.
The best thing is restore to 3.1.3 again and do your jailbreak with redsn0w in xp2 compatibility mode.

Blobs are not checked on a 3G prior to iOS4
To restore see Dev-Team Blog - Ultra-recycleHe who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Correct, only IOS 4.xx is needed.
It can't be that difficult to restore to 3.xx firmware. Try a different computer if this is giving you problem.

I've never tried it but I'm guessing that if you don't use RedSn0w and check 'use iPad BaseBand' you would probably get 1015 and have the phone in recovery. TU could probably kick it out of recovery though ad it does this in order to get past the BB checking, probably worth trying that first.
