4.3.3 SHSH blobs
I had a 4.0.1 3GS but I couldn't get the 4.3.3 SHSH blobs even with Cydia and Tinyumbrella.
I updated to 4.2.1 and only then did Cydia and Tinyumbrella save the 4.3.3 blobs.
Why did this happen?

When did you try to save the SHSHs

Last night, then I tried to restore to 4.3.3 from 4.0.1 but it said that it wasn't eligible for that build which meant they stopped signing 4.3.3.
So I restored to 4.2.1 since I had those blobs then I went on Cydia and noticed that only after updating to 4.2.1, then Cydia would save the 4.3.3 shsh...

Yeah, after I updated to 4.2.1 and got those 4.3.3 blobs, I was able to update to 4.3.3.
It's just weird that I wasn't able to get the 4.3.3 blobs on 4.0.1 firmware....

It is weird, Apple stops signing only this evening. I would expect past midnight.

I'm curious. Did u run 4.3.3 on your 3GS? I have 3GS with 4.2.1. This is a replacement unit. My old one I had updated to 4.3 and it pretty much broke it..laggy/stuttery scrolling and launching. 4.3.1 was a little better but not much.. Then I had phone replaced for unrelated issue and it came with 4.2.1 and I told the apple store girl to leave it alone.. I'm trying to see if other folks have run 4.3.2-4 to see if the 3GS still has the stutteryness going on. Please post back anyone with results either wAy. From what I've seen, 4.2.1 is best for 3GS. Thanks!

There really aren't many differences other than some bug fixes and supposed battery improvements in 4.3 as opposed to 4.2.1. 4.3 has airplay and personal hotspot but if these are useless to you then it would be meaningless to even restore to them. The choice is yours alone.
Here is something to show you the differences between all of them
Difference Between Apple iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.2) and iOS 4.3.3 | Difference Between | Apple iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.2) vs iOS 4.3.3

Well, like I said..I had 4.3 and 4.3.1 on the old 3GS and it was bad. I want to know how well 4.3.2-4 run on the 3GS...

I really dont see what the difference is between your old 3GS and your newer 3GS regardless if its a replacement unit or not. If you have had 4.3 and 4.3.1 and it has worked fine for you then chances are 4.3.2, 4.3.3 and 4.3.4 are gonna work fine for you as well just with more bug fixes. Just my opinion though.
Its a matter of choice. Some people like updating to the newest fw and some are more comfortable with the 4.2.1 fw

No...You don't understand...My older 3GS I had gone from 4.2.1 to 4.3 and it was horrible. Stuttered on scrolling and launching apps. I updated that to 4.3.1 and it helped a little, but not much. (DFU clean restores BTW)..That's the point at which I had to swap my phone for an unrelated issue. The new one came with 4.2.1 still on it. I wanted to see from other 3GS users if 4.3.2-4 had any performance improvements on 3GS.

I am sure 4.2.1 performs better than 4.3.3 as new firmware is packed with more features and uses more resources. Make sure you monitor your RAM usage by enabling your RAM monitoring from Sbsettings. Close apps that is not being used.

And as I stated its a matter of choice.
Some people claim 4.3.3-4.3.4 improves originating problems from previous updates while others such as yourself say it does more damage than good.
If you ask me I believe it is hit or miss. The firmwares although will work on a 3GS I believe were really intended for iPhone 4s but thats just my opinion. If anything we both, along with countless others can agree that 4.2.1 is alot more usable than 4.3-4.3.4

Oh, I do...I had 4.3 and 4.3.1 with no JB on the old one(never did). With nothing else open and just scrolling through my music, or nothing open, and just launching any app...stutter. Really bad...After I got this new one and ran it for a bit on 4.2.1, I went ahead and JB'd it on 4.2.1 cuz my warranty was up soon anyway...Just trying to get many responses to see if performance hit still exists mostly on 4.3.3-4..I'm just also wondering what 5.0 will do to the 3GS..LOL....most likely the same thing 4.0 did to the 3G..I'm actually pretty surprised they are going to support the 3GS on 5...
