Exclamation iPhone 3gs 4.2.1 No Service problem after jailbreaking.

After jailbreaking with redsn0w I would get service for a minute then "no service" for another. Then the iphone would proceed to reboot then go into safe mode. Im running on baseband 05.16.02. Need some solution to fix the no service problem. I still have the problem even when I restore the iPhone. Any suggestions?

Are you sure ? Since you are with ATNT or on official carrier and don't have ipad bb, restore to stock again, activate it with your official sim and check for signal before doing the jailbreak.

Is your baseband 6.15.xx ( ipad bb ) or 05.16.xx ( I believe is bb for 4.3.3). If it is not ipad bb, you might as well restore to stock 4.3.3 and go with Jailbreakme.com 3.0

I'm still confused. Are you with an Apple official carrier (AT&T in the US)?

If yes, do what iYeow suggested and update to the latest. If no, then 5.16 BB is not unlockable, it must be updated to 6.15 (the iPad BB).

Absolutely not. You should be able to use the latest and greatest 4.3.3 without problems.

haha so then what is my phones problem... ive literally tried everything besides updating the baseband to the ipad bb. The phone will work for 10 minutes after restoring. Then drops to "no service" then reboots into recovery mode

If this problem exists with stock firmware loaded (before jailbreaking) then it must be hardware related. If you have not tested it running stock (no jb) --- I suggest doing it.

No. If you're running stock w/o any jb ... then your phone or SIM card has a problem. If you've reloaded 4.3.3 (more than once) .... it's pretty clear.

BTW: Maybe I should ask .... were there any iTunes errors during the 4.3.3. load?

Something is amis. If you're on 5.16.x baseband and stock AT&T, there should be no error during the update. 1013 error is 'The baseband cannot be updated' iTunes Errors - The iPhone Wiki which usually occurs because you have the iPad BB (6.15.x) installed.

Check Settings/General/About/Modem Firmware. What does it say?

Well, that's strange. My very last ideas..... 1) check you hosts file and delete all lines that have apple in them. If you found one, reboot and try again. Did you press 'Update' in iTunes, or use 'recovery mode', or 'DFU' mode to get to 4.3.3? 2) It's possible reloading 4.3.3 from DFU mode will work better. Try that if you haven't already. 3) Another idea, redownload the 4.3.3 firmware.

You don't want to delete it, you want to remove any (and all) lines within the hosts file that contain the word 'apple'. On a windows 7 computer, hosts is located in this directory: CWindows\System32\drivers\etc

Use spotlight and search for the hosts file. I believe it is located in a system or library directory.
