[HELP] Iphone shuts down after apple logo

hey guys,
it's pretty much as simple as it sounds. yesterday i was on facebook and the app crashed and was stuck. so, i hard resetted the iphone, and once the logo came up i was sure the iphone was going to go to the springboard and business as usual. However, after the apple logo, the iphone simply shut down. i have a 3gs running 3.1.3 , jailbroken of course.

if anyone can help me i'd really appreciate it.

You probably need a restore. I think that would be the only solution. Have you saved your shsh's and do you need an unlock?

thanks for the quick response, i don't know if i saved my shsh's (doesn't cydia do that automatically?) ,and i do need an unlock...

It should have done that if you clicked make my life easier. DOwnload tinyumbrella (google) and click save my shsh's to check and see which ones you have saved.

i click save shsh and nothing happens...
and the saved shsh's show nothing :S

what now?

okay, so i used iFaith to get the shsh blobs, and i'm creating a custom signed fw. if i restore using this fw i'll be alright?

Yup. Just reinstall everything and you should be fine.

hey, so currently i can only make emergency calls, does anyone know how i can activate/jailbreak the iphone?

use redsn0w 0.9.4 with a 3.1.2 firmware from » felixbruns.de to hacktivate it.

can i shift-restore to a 4.0.2 and use limerain? redsnow doesn't work for me :S

NOOOO you will need a custom firmware and shsh's for that firmware. You have windows right? Go to ih8sn0w.com and download sn0wbreeze and make a custom 4.3.3 firmware. Then shift restore with it.

if i shift-restore to 4.3.3 with snowbreeze do i still have to activate?

If you have an official sim to activate, then while building cfw , use expert mode and unchecked : activate my iphone , otherwise choose activate.
