If you are on AT&T and it is a AT&T iPhone then of course it will say it at the top.

Oh okay. Because some people have said they've done something like this with t-mobile, gsm, etc. and it didn't pop up.

Probably because a iPhone won't run on Tmobile unless you get it unlocked.
