Default Can someone help me upgrade? Still on 3.1.2 Jailbroken

    Hey Guys,
    Hoping someone here can help.
I jailbroke my phone long ago. I think with Redsnow.
Hardly any of my apps work any more, and most new ones require 4.xx
    I have a 3g with 3.1.2
    Firmware is 04.26.08
I don't care if it's jailbroken any more, I just want to restore it to normal really, but if I have to keep it jailbroken, that's ok too.
I just want to upgrade the software.
    Thanks for any help.

If you're using a pc you can use sn0wbreeze to upgrade to a newer iOS without changing your 4.26.08 firmware. 3.1.3 works good on an iphone 3g, iOS4 tends to slow down a 3g a good bit.

+1. it's recommended to stay on 3.1.3 on iPhone 3G bc of the poor performance on iOS 4. but if you absolutely must, and you don't care about jailbreaking/unlocking then just hit upgrade in iTunes. It'll take you to 4.2.1.
