How'd I get to know my iPhone 4 FW and Hacktiavte

Right Hi guys, I recently got an iPhone 4 off fleabay and I dont have the original sim so I need to hacktivate.

How do I get to know the FW version to jailbreak, I know my way round redsn0w and GP and Limera1n quite well and i have an idea on hacktivation. An unlock isn't top prioroty, I just need the FW version and then i'm flying.

I'm stuck at the emergency call screen as expected.

EDIT: scratch that Tiny umbrella gave me the bad news 4.3.3, no unlock but there's a JB!

EDIT 2: What do I do now? do I just run redsn0w and that'll bypass activation?

Yes, you can either run redsn0w to hactivate or restore to custom fw that hactivates it.

Thanks! redsn0w, is weapon of choice, I hate uplaoding custom IPSW's, I think PWN'ed dfu is a little dodgy plus redsn0w does need a restore!

Well its a matter of choice. Some people like using cfws to preserve their current basebands while others like using redsn0w to jailbreak and hacktivate their device. Glad everything worked out for you

The phone had the latest BB anyways so no preservation was needed.
