iphone 2G stuck in recovery mode. please help

I bought this 2G off ebay already like this and been trying so many things to get it out snowbreeze,blackrain,ired. itunes knows its an iphone and shows serial number. when a jailbreak or use a custom firmware the custom boot screen comes up but nothing else.

Sorry I am new to this all and usually good at figuring things out but this one is over me.

What errors are you getting when trying to restore to a regular 3.1.3?

Weird, error 21 is normally a custom firmware error.
