Default iPod Touch is not detected by iTunes (and several other problems)

    Hey,

First of all, I am a "pro" jailbreaker and have had much experience.

I have recently bought an iPod Touch 2g and restore it legitly to 4.2.1

I tried to jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.96 r4/r5 and the DFU test was passed, but redsn0w is stuck on "Waiting for DFU Device".

I then tried limera1n 4.2.1 but it does detect my DFU.

I then tried greenpo1son and yet it still does not work...(DFU not detected)

I created a sn0wbreeze custom firmware and tried to restore the iPod.
However, I tried to "pwn" it using iReb. It was successful with getting "pwned" but then iTunes would not open. It is open in task manager but the GUI would not show up.

I KNOW how to DFU. Even the computer has the USB input sound.

    What the heck is wrong?

    Thanks in advance,

    Youshoe

Restore to stock 4.2.1 again, run redsn0w RC6 in xp2 compatibility mode and do your jailbreak again.

Despite hosts depatching, I still get iTunes error 3194.

I am using tinyumbrella to run tss server but getting errors.

Trying to DFU but same problem as before...

How come nothing is recognizing my DFU?

try putting it in DFU mode while iTunes is already open and waiting. maybe then it'll let you load up your custom fw

    Thanks for your replies.

It turns out going from a $1000 computer to a $200 netbook solved the problem.

    Wasted 7hrs lols...

    Thanks
