rejailbreak with redsnow
i'm on 4.2.1 iphone 4 jailbroke with redsnow a while back dont remember which version. was wondering if i can rejailbreak with redsnow rc16 to maybe see about getting better battery life. or do i need to upgrade firmware to 4.3.3 then jailbreak dont really want to do that. also will i lose my jailbreak apps if i do rejailbreak. did a search found a couple of articles but didnt really clarify what i needed. thanks in advance

it's usually safe to re-run redsn0w again as long as you uncheck install cydia, not sure if it will help the battery issue though since it will probably not actually rejailbreak because they are using the same exploit. when you jailbroke the phone was it new or did you update from a previous firmware? if you updated did you restore from backup when you updated and was that backup created while the phone was jailbroken? restoring from backups of jailbroken devices has been know to cause battery drainage issues.

you can always try it and see, just make sure to uncheck "install Cydia"
