Error 1600
I ended up restoring my phone! it was jailbroken and unlocked on 4.2.1 now I get the itunes and usb (recovery mode) of course the restore didn't go though and I found out that I had to restore it with a custom ipsw so I made one with the ipad 3.2.2 baseband and it gave me the error 1600 when I tried to restore it in dfu mode what can I do? I have a Macbook Pro and have tried Recboot doesn't work

You have to use redsnow to enter pwned DFU before you can restore to a custom firmware. If you already have the ipad baseband installed you should be restoring to a custom firmware that does not have the baseband in it.

Just a Note:
there is Normal mode (working fine)
Recovery mode (shows USB to itunes logo)
DFU/Pwned DFU mode (Blank screen but picked up as recovery mode)
to enter recovery mode - from power off- Hold Home Button
- Connect cable to device and computer KEEP hold of home
- After 5 seconds should see recovery mode.
to Enter Recovery mode - From normal (working mode)- Connect Cable to device and computer
- hold down power and home button until device resets
- Keep Hold of Both power and home
- after approx 15 seconds you should be in recovery mode.
ENTER DFU Mode - from recovery mode (usb connect)- Hold down Home button
- keep hold of home and Press and hold in Power for 12 seconds.
- Release Power but KEEP Hold of Home
- should have a black screen and apple should pick up device in recovery
Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

What if we're still experiencing problems in DFU mode?
I still get that error...
