SMS Tones

i downgraded from 4.3.3 recently to 4.2.1 because of the bugs and i only had 4.1 before. My problem is that when I download sms tones from cydia it doesnt add them in the sounds part of the settings it overwrites every single original tone such as tri tone chime glass horn bell and electronic with the same sms tone i downloaded. it doesnt do it for the ringtones just sms. If anyone has any insight id appreciate it if not ill have to downgrade back to 4.1

Are you adding these tones via Winterboard themes?

Since their location changed in 4.3.x versus 4.1, that makes sense to me at least...

I'd try adding the .mp3/.caf/.aiff etc. file to the directory /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/ manually via FTP and see if that adds it to your list.

it does it on 4.2.1 also. i am trying to use it by winterboard. where can i find those sms tones i download from cydia for winterboard so i can try moving it to the folder you told me to

they are supposed to do that. has been doing that sinc the 2.x days. if you want to use it, emable it winterboard. if not, disable it and you can have your regular tones back
