Iphone 3g apple logo stuck and can't restore in iTunes. Please help!!!
Hi, Firstly, reallly appreciate any help. I am an idiot. So I might need someone with patience.
Ok... I have an iphone which was unlocked and jailbroken when I bought it. It worked fine for 2 years on a PAYG sim. This
week, I switched to a contract sim and the network providers (Three Mobile) said I needed to upgrade my firmware for the
sim to work. That's where it all went wrong.
My original firmware was 3.01 and they told me I needed IOS 4.2
Stupidly I tried to upgrade vis iTunes and also usinf redrain. In truth I really don't know what happened. I got confused
as to whether you can upgrade a jailbroken phone up to IOS4. Anyway... my phone is now stuck with the apple logo and when I
try to restore in itunes I get an error (1394) message. Could any kind soul out there help a relative newbie like me?
Thanks for reading!

Since you have errored at 3194 which means you have not updated your baseband and you are still safe as far as baseband is concerned.
What you need to do is not restore to stock firmware but custom firmware of 4.2.1 created by snowbreeze 2.2.1 Use the pwned dfu from snowbreeze to put your iphone into dfu mode before you run itunes and retore to cfw of 4.2.1 , this way your 04.26.08 baseband is preserved for unlocking by Ultrasn0w.
To kick out itunes cable logo , try a hard reset or run tiny umbrella : use exit recovery to kick it out or fix recovery .Last edited by iYeow; 05-25-2011 at 11:39 AM.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your quick reply. First up, I know very little about unlocking and jailbreaking - my phone was already done when I bought it. So I really need you to start from the beginning. Step by step. What do I do first?

What is the status of your iphone screen.
Oops, just noticed you have a 3g, you can only create a custom fimware of 4.2.1Last edited by iYeow; 05-25-2011 at 11:33 AM.

Go ahead and download Tiny Umbrella , do a google search, run it and use Exit recovery to kick out your itunes cable logo.
Apple logo or itunes cable logo ?
Go and download snowbreeze 2.2.1 from here : iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones
and download the stock firmware of 4.2.1 from google search iclarified firmware. Run Snowbreeze 2.2.1 and create a custom firmware of 4.2.1 which will be placed on your desktop.Last edited by iYeow; 05-25-2011 at 11:42 AM.

Then if you have installed Tiny Umbrella, go to advanced option, uncheck : set hosts file to cydia , save it and close it.
Now you can either run redsn0w 0.9.6 RC6 in XP2 compatibility mode ( check only option DFU mode ) to only put your iphone into dfu mode, once it is in dfu mode, run itunes : shift key + Restore (itunes) to browse to Snowbreeze_4.2.1.ipsw ( on your desktop after you have built your cfw of 4.2.1 )
Sure, the baseband please
