Need help jailbreaking iPad
Hi, can someone pls help me. I'm getting a little confused here. I have an iPad 4.2.1 jailbroken and would like to upgrade to 4.3.3 and jailbreak it. How do I go about it? Can I upgrade it to 4.3.3 normally via iTunes then jailbreak it with redsnow? Can someone give me a step by step? Thanks

Thanks. That sounds complicated. There's a link to downloadban iPad 1 1_4.3.3_8j3_restore.ipsw is that the same? If I download that do I still need to make a custom ipsw with pwnage

Nope that's a stock fw. That's what you use to create your custom fw. Use pwnagetool if you can like orbyorb said as it's more reliable. But if you've only got windows sn0wbreeze will work.

Thanks 1.Annie, I'm getting more confused. Sorry.. Have been reading this tutorial on how to jailbreak on iPhone hacks.com but it did not mention anything bout creating a custom ipsw. ( I'm on a Mac) just said to download that iOS file, then frm iTunes, hold down option button and click restore.. So, I should not do this?? Sorry, I'm just Terrible at this

Ah you're probably reading about redsn0w then. I believe you can use redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 on your iPad after you restore to stock (not custom) 4.3.3 as well. These are two different methods that's up to you to choose.
If you could just double check if redsn0w works on 4.3.3 for iPad bc I'm not 100% sure but I am almost sure.

Thanks. The tutorial I was reading said it works on iPad. But, it's best if I use pwnagetool instead? Much easier for a noob like me?

If that's the case its up to you what's easier for you. Both tools are good, they're reliable and functional.
If I had to choose I would choose custom fw with pwnagetool just bc it's easier. Just make the custom fw and restore to it and you're done, jailbroken and all that jazz.
But redsn0w is good too. You upgrade to 4.3.3, then run redsn0w after.
Up to you
