iPhone 3g 4.2.1, 6.15
iPhone is in restore mode right now and I want to restore it for a clean phone. How would I go about doing that?

With the 6.15.00 baseband, you can either restore to a custom 4.2.1 firmware or if you would prefer to restore to 3.1.3, a stock firmware would be an option just as well as a custom firmware. If you don't want it to be jailbroken (wasn't sure if that's what you meant with "clean") then stock 3.1.3 is the only way to get a fresh firmware on it. 4.2.1 requires custom firmware.

I made a custom 4.2.1 FW with snowbreeze 2.2 and it didn't work. Got the 1604 error message. Both perservation mode and simple mode.
Don't really need jailbreak, just need unlock."Ain't no blockin' my shine, like my new Air Yeezys you can see me in the nighttime."

Did you put it into pwned dfu mode with redsn0w first before restoring to the custom firmware?

Restore went successful but iPhone is still stuck in the Pwned mode. Is there something that knocks it out of it?

It's not supposed to be stuck if you used a custom firmware. You're sure you used a custom fw and not stock?
Oh and if it was a custom fw did you make sure it wasn't one with the iPad bb packaged?Last edited by i.Annie; 05-12-2011 at 06:08 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yeah, I'm sure of all those things? Maybe my phone is screwed?

That's good. Kick it out of recovery mode with TinyUmbrella

Hacktivate with redsn0w 0.9.4 with a stock 3.1.2 Ipsw to bypass the emergency call screen.
