New iphone4 with 4.3.1

Hi, I just received a new phone for mothers day & would like to jailbreak it. I've read through the forums and I'm a little worried... I really don't want to screw this up!

So, first off...
I have not yet connected it to iTunes. I already have an iTunes acct with my old 3GS.

Should I go ahead and do this before attempting a jailbreak? Do a sync/backup?

Also, I don't know if this matters, but I'm with AT&T.

Would y'all be so kind as to type out step by step what I need to do to make this as painless as possible please?

Connect it to itunes and activate it first. Then go into settings and see what firmware you are on.

It's already activated. I've been using it since last night.

In settings, it says it's 04.10.01

That is your modem firmware. Need to know your main firmware.

It will say version in settings, 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 most likely

Go to YouTube and search how to jailbreak iPhone then look up videos and usually they will have all the stuff you need in the description if you have any questions message me

I suggest udating to 4.3.3 then. Then use redsnow 0.9.6rc16 to jailbreak it.
