Try using a custom 4.3.3 fw then to avoid getting stuck in recovery.

Go to ih8sn0w.com and download sn0wbreeze. Get a 4.3.3 stock firmware if you don't already have one.
Open sn0wbreeze and select your stock 4.3.3 ipsw. Then go into expert mode. Then in the general menu select activate if you don't have an official SIM to activate with. If you have the SIM, unselect activate.
Then create the custom fw by clicking build firmware.
Then open redsn0w 0.9.6rc15. Then browse to the stock (not custom made) 4.3.3 fw. Then select only dfu mode. Then follow the on-screen prompts to put your phone into pwned dfu mode.
Open TinyUmbrella and in advance options uncheck the box to point to Cydia on exit. Close TinyUmbrella.
Open iTunes, hold shift and click restore. Browse to your custom firmware (don't accidentally select the stock fw) and let iTunes do its thing.
After you should be fine. If you chose to not select activate, activate the phone in iTunes with your SIM. if you chose to activate, you should be able to access your springboard.

The fact that you're using TinyUmbrella is why you're getting stuck in recovery mode.
A custom firmware will preserve the baseband. I promise. Because you're going to a currently signed firmware, you should use a custom firmware to preserve your baseband rather than TinyUmbrella to avoid getting stuck in recovery mode.
Follow my instructions exactly and you will be fine.

Did you use redsn0w to put it into pwned dfu mode before trying to restore to the custom firmware like I advised?

Yes. Food. I saw on Maury a girl whored herself for a double cheeseburger and apparently she was proud of it.
