Default 3194 when update to 4.3.3

I have a 3GS old bootrom on 4.3.1. Jailbroken. To jaibreak on 4.3.3 I first have to update to 4.3.3.in iTunes.

    I get a:
"The iPhone XX could not be updated. An unknown error occurred 3194" when I update "normally".

When I put my phone in DFU myself I get:
"The iPhone XX could not be updated. An unknown error occurred 11".

It freezes then, but I can solve that with either TinyUmbrella or iReb and then it works again.
So am I now stuck on 4.3.1 for the rest of my iPhone's mechanical life ? :/

I like to ad here, before getting flamed that I DIUD search. No, I'm not downgrading t an earlier version and my hosts file has the proper Apple entries..

In your hosts file, just les the line 127.0.0.1 local host without #

Open the new tiny umbrella and do this : #1873518 - Pastie

    Restart your PC...

Same problem, same solution. Site search paid off--thank Christ!

Just one question: where is my hosts file, and what does "just les the line 127.0.0.1 local host without #" mean? It looks like "les" is a typo, but I can't figure out what he means. Since I didn't know where the hosts file was, I just did the other stuff and it worked.

    Hosts is : CWINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\

Just put .txt at the end.

Let the 127.0.0.1 line, all others add # before the line...

Save and retreive the .txt and click yes...

There's no etc folder in my CWindows\System32\drivers

I guess that means I don't have a hosts file? It doesn't seem to matter because everything worked.

Well this is weird. I use this Explorer replacement for power users, and I set it to show all files, but it doesn't see drivers/etc. I found that out when I tried to copy the hosts file attached above. I can browse to CWindows\System32\drivers\etc using Explorer, and if I type the full path into xplorer2, I can also browse to it. But I have no way of double-clicking into it from the drivers folder.

In any case, my hosts file was already there and my jailbreak worked even with "127.0.0.1 localhost" commented out. Apparently it was enough in my case to uncheck "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" in TinyUmbrella.

Yes, piece of cake. And this time everything was well prepared for PkgBackup, which saved me a lot of work. The only problem was that PkgBackup failed to restore SBSettings. When I reinstalled SBSettings, I wasn't (and still can't) get some of the toggles to work (like SSH, MiWi, and a couple of others). No matter how I set the toggles, their buttons don't show when I open SBSettings.
