Iphone 4.2.1 SHSH help
Hi! I got a couple of questions I need answered and I know there is a couple of threads about this but I need more detailed help regarding my Iphone.
I bought an Iphone 4 with version 4.1 and jailbreaked it and now I have 4.2.1
I haven't updated it since then but I am planing to do so now to 4.3.3 but I have read that I can't restore my Iphone as it were when I got it because of the SHSH blob.
I don't know if I got any saved. Some say Cydia saved it or something but how can I check that? If cydia don't have it, can I then restore it back to its original state? If I can't, what should I do?
Thanks in advance!

open cydia and see if its got and firmware versions at the top. theyll be in green. if not then download tiny umbrella (google it) then open it and click on yoyr device in the left, then hit save shsh. if it doesnt show any shsh blobs for 4.2.1 or anything other than 4.3.3 then once you
upgrade your stuck at 4.3.3.
i personally am using 4.3.3 and have no issue at all, but if your happy where your at then just stay at 4.2.1.

When I open cydia it says at the top "SHSH: iOS 4.2.1, 4.3b1, 4.3.3 but it isn't in green. I saw nothing in tinyumbrella as well.
Does that mean that I can't restore it to original as if I just have gotten the phone? (4.1) I'm asking in case the phone gets damaged or something so I have to turn it in.

youll always be able to go to 4.2.1 but not 4.1 no way due to no blobs.
but if you need to turn it in for a warranty claim or anything youll need to update it to the newest firmware anyways.Last edited by DevouredDreams; 05-08-2011 at 05:33 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ok, but lets say it get damaged and I restore it to 4.2.1 without jailbreak (which should be possible because I only have 4.2.1) they would accept it right? In theory I mean, you don't work there so how should you know that

in theory one would think but with my experience with apple and ive had alot they believe the newest firmware fixes everything lol
but for real if you go in there with software problems make sure its on the newest firmware or theyll say you need to update and tell you to come back.
but if its hardware then the software version wouldnt matter.
if that makes sence.

yea you can restore to 4.2.1 since you have blobs for it.
just doenload tiny umbrella and hit save shsh after it saves shsh, then hut start tss servers. open itunes and hold shift/alt key and click restore and locate the 4.2.1 firmware
