    1. OFF YOUR PHONE
    2. OPEN ITUNES
    3. TASK MANAGER, END "ipodservice.exe" and "itunes.exe"
    4. HOLD HOME BUTTON TILL YOU SEE THE APPLE
    5. QUICKLY OPEN BLACKRA1N AND CLICK "make it rain" before APPLE DISAPPEARS
    6. IF THE GUY'S FACE SHOWS UP, LEAVE YOUR HOME BUTTON, AND LEAVE IT THERE
    7. YOU WILL SEE IT KEEPS REBOOTING AND RE-BREAKING, IT'S NORMAL.
    8. WAIT!!!

STEP 8 IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!!
You have to be extremely patient, if it doesn't work after 12 hours, you can source other solutions...

It works for me, after a total of 40+ reboots! 40+ reboots guys, and the battery is completely drained, it charges a while, then reboot then the whole process repeats.

Wait and pray hard!! Good luck!!!

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 3GS (3.1.2, 5.11.07 baseband) which was locked to AT & T, I still have AT & T's Sim with me. I did the jailbreak using blackra1n and unlocking using blacksn0w. I put a Vodafone Sim (UK) in it and it worked well for 2 months although I saw a significant decrease in battery performance, I had to turn-off 3G, Location Services features. I had frequently done "reset network settings" and toggling the "Airplane Mode" but never had this problem but couple of days ago the phone froze and I turned on airplane mode and now its stuck at Geohot's image (first apple logo, usb-itunes and then Geohot's image) and keeps doing the same.

I did the above quoted fix by Greenier and it has been running for 32hours and still doing the same thing.

I am looking for a solution which does not involve restoring/upgrading unless that's the only solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance.

use pwnage tool (mac) or sn0wbreeze (pc) to create a custom 4.3.3 firmware. this upgrades the fw but leaves the bb alone letting you to unlock your current bb while at 4.3.3 via ultrasn0w, give that a go. I dunno what the other dude mentioned I cbf'd reading it, too long. give this a go if you haven't tried it
