Selling iPhone 3G tonight. Quick question about restoring.

Ok so I have my iPhone 3G on eBay and I need to restore it. It's been so long since I've did any jb or restoring with it. Quick question. It's running 3.12 fw unlocked. Now I stated I'm selling it with that firmware so I'd like to restore it to that firmware again with the same 05.11.07 baseband. Now I forget how do I restore back to 3.12 without a bb update. And I can just rejailbreak right from jailbreakme.com right? And just throw on ultra again Thanks guys.

Yeah duh. Don't know where my head was. Lol anyways I'm gunna give them the option of me upgrading to a higher software. What is the highest least buggiest firmware available for the iPhone 3G?

You must stay away from stock 4.1 and above, the baseband cannot be unlocked.
Like str4y says, just restore to stock 3.1.3, you are safe this way cos the baseband can still be unlocked.

If the user wants it on iOS 4 (the farthest up you can go on this device is 4.2.1) then you can certainly preserve the baseband by using sn0wbreeze or pwnagetool to create a custom 4.2.1 fw. 4.2.1 is probably the most stable version you can use for iOS 4. but like everyone else has said, 3.1.3 is probably the best of any fw version for iPhone 3G.

I myself would also suggest staying on either 3.1.3 or 3.1.2. The issue is any apps that require iOS 4 won't work. But that's for the user to figure out right

Thanks. Well I can tell u this much my 3G is one of the lucky ones with the 5.8 bootloader. So I could use fuzzy still to downgrade the bb right? Yeah I have no prob leaving it at 3.12 but I am afraid that newer apps won't work. Hopefully this person will understand how a unlock works and has enough sense to listen about not updating the firmware. I thought if I could at least throw on something like 4.0 they'd be good for awhile. Does fuzzy still work on 4.0?

Wow, i would keep this iphone as my collection if i am not using it. Who knows it might be worth some money as a collector's item of bootloader 5.8..
Fuzzyband still works at 4.0, baseband 4.0 is still unlockable.

Lol yeah I know. Both me and my gf got iphone 3G and we both lucked out with the 5.8 bootloader. I sold it on eBay got 200 for it. I'm satisfied with that . Ok cool I'll email the buyer and ask what they want me to do.

Yeah so I emailed my buyer 3 times asking if he wants me to update to 4.0. No response. Now I stated in the auction that it had 3.12 on it. But I'm afraid they won't have a clue an start complaining if they can't install apps cause it's on such a low firmware. Do u think I should just leave it as is or update so they won't have a reason to update again later?

No just leave it alone. In the listing you stated what it is already on. The buyer should know what he is getting and there will be no argument bc your listing is accurate.
