    Default 3G[S] Jailbreak.

    Hello, I have a iPhone 3GS currently on 4.0 - Jailbroken with Limera1n and unlocked with ultrasn0w.

I have SHSH saved for 4.0/4.0.1/4.1/4.2.1 - Base band 5.13.04

I need to be unlocked with ultrasn0w and hacktivated as I don't have the original SIM.

Can I go up to 4.3.3? If so - how?

    Thanks.

You would need to make a custom 4.3.3 firmware with pwnage tool or snowbreeze and restore to that.

Did you choose the activate option when making the custom firmware?

You may need to remake it then. I think the activate option is under the general settings when making it.

Ah yeah, thanks. I've ticked the Hacktivation option now and built the IPSW again. So how do I now go from 4.0 to 4.3.3 using this firmware?

Use iReb or redsnow to enter pwned DFU. Then shift restore to the custom firmware in iTunes.

Have you ever used tiny umbrella or edited your hosts file?

I've tried adding them extra hosts onto that Host 'file' but when I edit it in Notepad and try to save it over the original 'file' I can only save it as a .txt so the original stays the same so I have the original with unchanged hosts and a seperate .txt file with the edited hosts in the etc folder :/

Open tiny umbrella, click on advanced, deselect the box that says set hosts to cydia on exit. then click apply and close tiny umbrella. Then try the custom restore again.
