Need help restoring

Hi, I tried to restore my iphone 3gs earlier today when itunes crashed, after putting the iphone back into DFU mode and trying the restore process again it now gets stuck on preparing iphone for restore, the apple logo and loading bar are at 0% and eventually getting the 1604 error.
Among this error I've also recived 1603 and 1611 error's
I've tried restarting, downgrading the itunes version but still having no luck. everytime I turn the iphone on it either goes to the activation screen or the plug into it itunes screen.

If there's anymore information you need let me know.

My iphone is currently running 4.2.1 and the baseband is 05.15.04-6.4_M3S2
Tried so much stuff to get this working, can anyone help me please?

since i'm not sure which os you are running use either pwnagetool (mac) or sn0wbreeze (pc) to create a custom firmware and restore to that, just make sure you are in pwnd dfu before starting the restore, redsn0w (pc and mac) or pwnagetool will get you in pwned dfu
