Upgrade Iphone 3G to 4.2

Heya, I would like to upgrade my Iphone 3G to 4.2. I am currently running on 3.1.3 with 06.15.00 bb, will I be able to upgrade, then jailbreak and unlock? If possible to post step by step instructions, I've been googling but I can't find anything similar. Thanks

use snowbreeze 2.0.2 to make a custom 4.2.1 firmware and restore to that in itunes.

Whoops, my bad. Always mix up the snowbreeze versions. 2.0.2 was actually for 4.1 though btw which is just as good (if not better) than 4.2.1.

i can never get those cfws to work. it always gets tuck at "preparing ipod for restore" i have my 3.1.2, 4.0.2, 4.1 and 4.2.1 SHSH saved on Cydia and i have the customized hosts file so i can downgrade to any of those FW, but the snowbreeze fw never restores it. i try pwnd dfu mode yet it still do not work. i have an ipod 2g with 4.1 fw currently.

nvm. i used sn0wbreeze 2.1 and did it and worked like charm. ty for help anyway. wouyldnt have done it without you people!
