How to Restore Jailbroken iPhone 3GS
Hey everyone, i have an iPhone 3GS firmware 4.0 and baseband 05.13.04. I got an iPhone 4 recently so i'm giving my 3GS to my dad. My question is, how do i restore the 3GS (to 4.0 again) without F'ing up the baseband, etc. Do i simply click restore in itunes and let it do it's thing or do i download the ipsw file from modmyi and Shift + restore?
3GS was jailbroken using jailbreakme.com unlocked using ultrasn0w.
Help please!

Will Redsn0w work? I'm sorry for all these noob queations! :P
I also have an iphone 4 firmware 4.2.1 and baseband 03.10.01, which needs to be restored. It was jailbroken using greenpois0n and unlocked using the gevey sim. Can i press restore form itunes or do i need pwnage tool for that as well?Last edited by Psynani; 05-05-2011 at 09:20 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Then you want to restore to custom firmware created by snowbreeze . Why do you want to stay at 4.0, go for 4.3.2

Oh no such thing
I've just been afraid of updating anything at the cost of losing my unlock or wifi etc.. Everything seems to be working fine so..
So if i'm already jailbroken, i can still run a 4.3.2 custom firmware using snowbreeze? Will this preserve my 05.13.04 baseband?
oh and does the same apply to my iphone 4? firmware 4.2.1 baseband 03.10.01 greenpoisoned and gevey unlocked
Ok so i updated my 3gs from 4.0 to 4.3.2 using sn0wbreeze.
After the firmware install, when the phone reboots, i got a message on itunes that says
"The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone. Please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement sim card."
I don't have the sim card that came with the phone. What do i do now?
