Will somebody PLEASE help me??? 3GS Jailbreak 4.1
Hi guys, 1st timer here...long story but if somebody can help me out I will really really appreciate it!!
ok..here goes...
I brought an iphone 3gs around a month ago which was jailbroken to 4.2? (I think)...stupidly I plugged it into itunes and tried to update to the latest fw...crashed the phone...itunes with usb logo came up.
I tried to restore the phone to no avail(through itunes)...took it back where I got it from and he said "never try to update it!"...he sorted it out for me..re-jailbroke it...cost me some more money!...
The problem I had was that it was jailbroken to 4.1...I really want a newer firmware or latest one.
I downloaded vlc player(cydia) on the iphone, and iphone explorer on my pc...converted some videos with a program and dragged them over to var/mobile/media in iphone browser whilst iphone was plugged in pc...it worked great!
But for some reason the connection broke and now I only have a handful of icons on the springboard...no cydia/no settings..just apps which i had from app store...
Is there anyway I can restore/jailbreak this phone myself either with redsnow or somethin?
Basically with a new firmware etc...
Thanks for reading and I look forward to your replys!

Here are the followings that will guide you to restore to 4.3.2.
Update itunes to the latest.
Download Snowbreeze 2.6.1, download the stock 4.3.2 ipsw. Create a custom fw of 4.3.2.
Run redsn0w RC14, browse to stock 4.3.2, just check only the box : put iphone into dfu mode.
Perform this until you see a message dfu done.
Now run itunes : shift + restore to custom firmware of 4.3.2 created by Snowbreeze 2.6.1
Apple is still signing 4.3.2, so you need not have to start tss server from Tiny Umbreall with 4.3.2 blob downloaded onto your computer.
If Apple has stoped signing, you have have to do the the red statement above.

Thanks for the reply!
A few questions though
1.I can't update my 3gs to the latest firmware (4.3.3)...error 1505
2.On snowbreeze which mode do I select...baseband/simple/expert?
3.When you mean just check only the box on redsnow..what do you mean...Install Cydia?
4.RedSnow says "Use IPSW for your CURRENT firmware"...which is 4.1???
Sorry to be a pain
So what your saying then is just use the stock 4.3.2 on redsnow...then after dfu done, boot up itunes then shift+restore and use the custom 4.3.2 which I created with snowbreeze? (will it still error 1505?)
And then I can use ultrasnow from cydia to unlock my simcard yeah?
EDIT - Oh, you mean update itunes to the latest version...ha ha sorryLast edited by Plug; 05-06-2011 at 05:57 AM.

Haha update iTunes first

Since you are at 4.1 run redsnow 0.9.6 rc6 , browse to stock 4.1 ipsw , don't check Cydia, only select option: put iPhone into dfu mode and finished up the process to get your iPhone into dfu mode
Now your screen is black ( in redsnow you should see a msg dfu done. Close redsnow now
Run iTunes and now restore to custom fw of 4.3.2

Thanks
And which option do I use on snowbreeze to create the cfw
Expert/simple?
Thanks for the help iYeow....
I updated from 4.1 to the new 4.3.3...
Heres how I did it....
Used snowbreeze to create a cfw of 4.3.3 -> itunes restore+shift
iPhone would not go past the I presume recovery mode...emergency call with itunes logo and usb.
Tried tiny umbrealla to kick it out, didnt work....
So I used redsnow with the stock 4.3.3fw -> dfu mode ->pineapple on screen...
Rebooted iPhone, got ultrasnow from cydia..unlocked to my sim
good times!
Thanks again!
Was there a quicker way I could have done it?Last edited by Plug; 05-06-2011 at 11:36 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
