4.3.2 Recovery Loop after restore to stock firmware
My friend came to me this morning to ask for help. He had an iPhone 4 on 4.3 firmware that was stuck in a recovery loop. It had been previously jailbroken, but the baseband had not been upgraded to the ipad baseband.
I tried to update it to 4.3.2 (stock firmware, trying to get rid of his jailbreak) and got an iTunes error (I want to say it was error 1015, but I am not 100% on that) and it went back into recover mode. Then I jailbroke it with Redsn0w and used TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery mode. Everything is working fine now, but I don't understand why I couldn't restore to stock firmware.
It is running 4.3.2 firmware with a 02.10.04 baseband.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

This is just a guess, but the new firmware 4.3.3 came out yesterday. 4.3.2 might not be the standard anymore soon, if not already.
Tinyumbrella in TSS mode should take care of that though, did you try to press the TSS Server button then try to install via iTunes stock firmware?

I don't think that's the issue. He didn't have his SHSH blogs saved, and once I got it out of recovery I was able to save them. Apple doesn't stop signing firmware a day after a new one is released...I think they give you at least a week.

Maybe not, but if it's any consolation I've been trying to restore my iPhone 3GS to stock firmware for the past 2 days STRAIGHT! The best I've been able to do is jailbreak it like you. But I believe I have a battery issue preventing me from doing that.
How about trying another computer?

you got that error because 2.10.04 is not the baseband for 4.3.2

Also I had tinyumbrella open but did not gave the TSS server running so I don't think that should make a difference but could that be why the baseband didn't upgrade?

correct, tinyumbrella will prevent a baseband update on the iPhone 4, although not sure why it didn't update if you didn't have the TSS server running since you said it was a stock ipsw and not custom
