New iPhone 4 User need Help on JB

Hi I just got my iPhone 4 it's on 4.3 Firmware and 04.10.01 Modem Firmware. I want to Jailbreak it but I want it to be an Untethered Jailbreak. Also I'm on T-Mobile & I know that the only way to unlock this is to get a Gevey Sim Unlock. Can anyone help me out to set up what I need and where to get tutorials. Thanks

You'll want to upgrade it to 4.3.2 and jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6rc14. It is untethered. And you're right you'll need a Gevey SIM to unlock.

but updating to 4.3.2 will it affect my Baseband? also When I try to update my Firmware thru iTunes it will update to 4.3.3 not 4.3.2 so how do I upgrade to 4.3.2? Thanks

As far as I know the baseband on 4.3.2 will also be unlockable with the Gevey. I just checked their website.

I think since 4.3.3 just came out 4.3.2 should still be signed and you can still do it.

You should use TinyUmbrella to save your SHSHs NOW to be sure you'll have 4.3.2 to restore to. You can also use sn0wbreeze to make a custom 4.3.2 fw to restore to if you want to be safe and preserve your baseband just in case.

Hi what do you mean by still signed and I can still do it. you mean I can still do Shift + Restore then choose 4.3.2? also if I use Custom Firmware it won't work on Gevey AFAIK. I tried to save SHSHs to TinyUmbrella but when it says to late and It's not on Cydia something. So it's ok to update my Firmware from 4.3 to 4.3.2? it won't update my Baseband and cause me headaches in the future when a Ultrasn0W Unlock comes out?

Ah you're right about the Gevey not working without a clean firmware. You would be fine to take it to 4.3.2 stock bc I'm sure I read on the site that the bb for that fw is unlockable as well.

When I say 4.3.2 is being signed, I mean usually Apple leaves a window between firmwares when a new one is released, the previous can still be restored to for a few days. Since 4.3.3 is pretty darn new, it's a good chance 4.3.2 is still signed and you won't need SHSHs to restore with. So this means you can do a standard shift+restore to a stock 4.3.2 right now.

If you opened TinyUmbrella just make sure to go to Advance and unselect the option to point to Cydia on exit so that your restore to stock 4.3.2 won't error out.

Too late I didn't do the Advance Cydia thing. tried the shift restore but it I get errors. doing it again. What happens when I just click on restore will it get back to 4.3 or will be updated to the latest OFW? What should I do to go to 4.3.2?

Are you trying 4.3 or 4.3.2?

If you click restore it still takes you to 4.3.3 I believe.

So like I said to avoid error go to TinyUmbrella and uncheck what I said before. Then try the restore to 4.3.2

4.3.2, I'm trying to restore it with TinyUmbrella. Because TinyUmbrella says I have 4.3.2 saved.

I get 1013 error and I'm stuck on connect to iTunes

Ok see that's why I told you to not do it with TinyUmbrella. You need to do it without so you don't get that error.

I did try to restore it to 4.3.2 using the Shift Restore and I got error aswell. Then I tried Restoring it while TinyUmbrella is running and still got error. What should I do?

Yes but did you uncheck point to Cydia from TinyUmbrella's advance options, exit TU, then open iTunes and try the restore? iTunes needs to be closed when you do the steps with TU to avoid pointing to Cydia, then open iTunes after you do that and close TU.

When I came back it restored successfully. Next I JB it using Redsnow. I'm on 4.3.2 now and it's Jailbroken. next step get a Gevey. Does anyone know where I can order a legit Gevey and nay feedbacks on the Gevey?

Thanks for the help @ i.Annie, and yeah I ordered from them as I don't have a choice I need to use that Gevey unlock. Hopefully a Software unlock will be out soon
