IPHONE 4 ... 4.01 to 4.32 = Bricked, tried DFU, please help! :(

Hi, I have iphone 4, was on 4.01 with jailbreakme I’ve had jb working fine for ages.

I wanted to ug fw to 4.32 as several apps in ********** need 4.2+, tried ug fw in itunes after backing up, it failed at about 80%.. and have the itunes logo with lead.

Have put in DFU, itunes recognises recovery mode.. recovery then fails at the firmware stage after verifiy iphone software at like 90% stage with various unknown error codes including 1611.

Tried the above several times with reboots and diff ports. Any advice appreciated thanks in advance. Gutted here!

Did you ever use tinyumbrella? Check your hosts file for any gs.apple.com entries, and remove them if they exist, then try again.

yeh thanks, I finally at 5am uk lol found out about hosts file and edited with getdiz, all sorted thanks! itunes must be callin home lol.
