How to totally restore THIS iPhone??
Hello all,
My iPhone stopped working (WiFi, phone and bluetooth altogether!) and I want to send it back to Apple as I heard it's a hardware problem.
My status is: 4.2.1 FW with iPad baseband
I need to restore it so Apple wont find it was jaibroken? Is is possible? How?

+1, yes definitely void your warranty if they see ur iPad bb but you can try and leave it in recovery mode or somehow restore to factory setting , personally bring it to apple store, find a nice guy on a busy day and tell him your hardware problem, hopefully he didn't notice your iPad bb, he might
give you an exchange
Finally leave right away after the exchange

What about updating to newest ios version, wouldnt that fix it, aka remove iPad bb and revert it to the newest iPhone bb? And also remove any sign of jailbreak?
I'd try that I guess, unless someone else says it won't work lolLast edited by Nelly998; 04-28-2011 at 07:32 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

iPad bb once installed cannot be replaced unless there is s higher bb version eg : 6:16 or 7:15
The newest bb 3GS version is 05.16.xx is still lower than 6.15 so it won't work

I came to aske same question... except i am on the normal BB..
My 4 month old iPhone shuts down at andomly between 70% and 55% battery.. i am losing 1% of battery per MINUTE.. and thats with Location, Wifi, Bluetooth and 3g turned off.. (Only using Edge!!) if i turn on any of the above services, my battery drains by about 5% a minute (meaning 5 minutes of unplugged access..) Thats not normal under any circumstance.. a

Yes, that is not normal. I don't know how you jailbreak at that time but there was a time , a version of redsnow due to hacktivation ,an unofficial PT
causes such issue.
What you can do now is to restore again, activate with official sim and do your JB with the latest redsnow at the latest firmware.

I m using the 4.2.1 redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc8 -- no hactivation, no unlock legit carrier.
I plan on returning it, but need to return to virgin so to speak.. i know i can just restore to 4.2.2 but will that complete factory reset? No logs no traces?
