You need to update to ipad baseband for unlock but you may lose your GPS function.

Run redsn0w 0.9.6 RC6 again , this time just check ipad bb update if you really need the unlock.

even though it was working fine jailbroken on 05.14.02 before i installed ultrasn0w? also which software would i use to update to ipad baseband.

quick update, i reset network settings and my signal is now back. does that mean i can just straight upgrade to 4.3.2 with resn0w without losing signal.

If your carrier is the official carrier for your iphone, you don't need to use ultrasn0w or if your iphone is factory unlock. You have to know your iphone.

+1. The baseband is irrelevant unless you need an unlock so updating your firmware is fine as long as you don't need to unlock your phone (use it on another carrier)
