Default Frmo 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 Iphone 4 (stuck on "connect to iTunes")

First and foremost I apologize if this has already been covered in a different thread.

I've been following this guide Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 Untethered On Windows Using Sn0wbreeze 2.6 [Tutorial] | Redmond Pie to upgrade my AT&T Iphone 4 on bb 01.59.00 from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 thinking I'd be able to unlock via the last step(s) in the guide.

Alas, I'm now stuck on the "connect to itunes" screen with iTunes telling me my simcard isn't suported (running an american phone in Denmark) and thusly cannot unlock.

So I beseech thee, great iPhone wizards: is there a way for me to unlock or do I have to downgrade to an earlier firmware? (I've saved SHSHs with TinyUmbrella)

Many thanks in advance and kind regards

So you restored to a custom firmware then? If you did and you didnt choose to activate it then you need to either activate with a ATT sim card or use redsnow 0.9.6rc14 to activate it. You shouldnt need to choose any options in redsnow since you should already have cydia installed.

Downgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.1 first, since it will not allow you with 06.15 baseband (I am assuming your iphone is unlocked). Then use a custom firmware to upgrade to 4.3.2/2. That should do the trick
    Best of luck
It only takes a few seconds, but if I helped you, say thanks!

@Simon: Yes, I'm using a custom firmware made in Snowbreeze 2.6. I don't have an AT&T simcard (bought the phone on Ebay) so redsnow would be the only way I guess. Will unlocking with redsnow allow me to keep my current baseband?

@M3thos: Not an option but thanks for replying

EDIT: @Simon: Also, I've just read somewhere (http://pczonenow.com/jailbreak-ios-4...-ipad-and-ipod ) "...and for those who rely on carrier unlock should not attempt jailbreaking method below."
This worries me a wee bit :P

It looks like in your first post, you are not at recovery mode, but emergency mode.
Restore to custom firmware of 4.3.2 with Hacktivation from SB 2.6

Stay away from Redsn0w for jailbreak as you need the unlock.

All custom firmwares help you to preserve your current baseband

@iYeow: That's the thing tho. I JB'ed with SB 2.6 and restored in iTunes doing the shift + restore from the custom firmware made in SB 2.6. So I guess I'm in emergency mode. Not quite sure where to find this hacktivation (This is only my second firmware upgrade, I'm such a noob)

EDIT: Alright, I found the Activate the iPhone under the General tab in SB 2.6 but when I check it and press the arrow to continue I first get prompted to download apps from repos to add to the ipsw and then I wind up back in general and the loops goes on, not quite sure what to do from here.

EDIT2: Ok, I think I understand what you want me to do: basically do the whole deal again, but this time with Hacktivation enabled, thus solving my unlock issue. Correct? :P

Use Expert mode, just check the ativate iphone box , don't worry about download cydia apps and build it.

If you have a bottom slider on your iphone, then you are in Emergency screen.

Yes, correct. Otherwise you are locked in Emergency screen with no official sim to trigger into Home Screen.
Once you have restored to CFW of 4.3.2 with hactivation, you will be jailbroken and at Springboard.
Update cydia and install Ultrasn0w to unlock .
    You are done.

You are already on 4.3.2 correct? So the easiest thing to do would be to just run redsnow on your phone now. It will not update your baseband. Only iTunes can update your baseband.
