I have an iPhone 3GS here, that is updated with 4.3.2
The thing is; the iPhone is from the States and has an AT&T lock on it. Probably it has baseband 05.16.02 as well.
That means I can't activate it on my iTunes, and use it with a dutch provider simcard.
Is there a way to activate the iPhone and unlock it?
Yes you can activate it and unlock it as well but you will lose your gps functionality.
Here is what you do:
download snowbreeze 2.6or Pwnage tools 4.3.2(Mac)
Download 4.3.2 ipsw ( you may have it already)
Create a custom firmware, use expert mode: select activate iPhone and select iPad Baseband,
An Internet connection on your computer is needed to update iPad bb.
Once created it is placed on your desktop.
You can either use redsnow Rc14 just to put your iPhone into dfu mode or the SB dfu pwner or PT dfu pwner to get your iPhone into dfu mode.
Once Dfu is achieved, run iTunes : shift + restore to custom firmware of 4.3.2 which you have just created .
If successfully restored, your iPhone will be at home screen, update cydia and install Ultrasn0w to unlock.
