Help Needed with iPhone 4 on 4.1/01.59.00!
So heres the situation.
I have a iPhone 4, on 4.1 baseband 01.59.00.
Jailbroken with limera1n, and unlocked with ultrasn0w 1.2.1.
I want to upgrade to 4.3.2 WITH KEEPING 01.59.00 baseband. Is there any possible way?
The new features I could really use on my iPhone, but I still wish to keep my unlock with ultrasn0w.
What is the safest way of doing this? I do not have the original sim card that came with the phone.
I have saved my SSH, I have 4.1, 4.2.1 and 4.3.2 with tinyumbrella.
MOST IMPORTANT IS THE UNLOCK.
I have read up about sn0wbreeze but not quite sure how to use or what it does.
All help and support will be greatly appreciated.
Much thanks.

I would stay put if I were you. 4.3.2 doesnt offer much that 4.1 doesnt have. Any reason why you want to go to 4.3.2?

The thing where you can wireless hotspot, I also have some issues with 4.1 on my phone, some small bugs so I was hoping to restore it to a newer firmware to fix some of the current issues.
Sometimes when I airplane mode my phone while ultrasn0w'd I get sim failure and then the commcentre for the phone stops working and I need to reboot the phone and plug in my official sim card.
I have ultrasn0wed my phone, but I haven't been able to test the unlock yet because I am using my offical sim card.
I have tested it with a bunch of cut dummy simcards but none with real signal.
I need to bring the phone overseas to use on vacation so I want to get this all sorted out otherwise I couldn't careless about keeping the unlock baseband. But as of now it is a MUST.Last edited by Studie; 04-23-2011 at 06:08 PM.

ultrasnow isnt going to be any more stable on 4.3.2. It hasnt even been officially updated to work with 4.3.2 yet. You need to install a ultrasnow fixer just to get regular ultrasnow to work so it could very possibly be less stable.

thanks for the quick replies simon
The 4.3.2 should be a more stable firmware then 4.1. I would like the fixes from the firmware as I find that my 4.1 does drain a lot of battery with even the Push notification off.
I want to start fresh but keep the baseband still. sn0wbreeze looks fairly simple, what do you think?
I've heard that the ultrasn0w fixer seems to work good, so I don't know what to do...

Its your choice, just wanted to give you the facts. You can indeed use snowbreeze to make a custom 4.3.2 restore to that in iTunes and preserve your baseband. Then install ultrasnow fixer and you should be good to go. Just make sure to never restore to a regular 4.3.2 firmware.

Thats what I'm thinking too... Last time I was doing some upgrading on my iPhone device I really screwed it up. My phone came with 4.0.1, and updated to 4.1 but then luckly my baseband was still kept. But during that time there was no jailbreak and I was freaking out...
So this time I wanted to make sure everything will go smoothly as planned.
Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 Untethered On Windows Using Sn0wbreeze 2.6 [Tutorial] | Redmond Pie
If I follow these steps so for sure everything will go smoothly? I don't want any surprises from itunes end

There is no guarantee that it will go smoothly. Surprises will make you gain more experience.

Thanks for the responses!
I have successfully upgraded to 4.3.2 from 4.1 using sn0wbreeze and custom firmware. Everything went according as planned, but I did run into an error while updating the iphone with the custom firmware. Sn0wbreeze had troubles iREB'ing the phone. So I got this error in iTunes.
The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600 – 1601 – 1602 – 1603 – 1604).
I used iREB R4 and put the phone properly into DFU mode and the custom firmware updated smoothly.
There was some issues with 1 signal bar, but ultrasn0w 1.2.2 fixed it. I didn't need ultrasn0w because my phone was already working on my current sim card, but I got it anyways so I can take the phone overseas to use.
Yay! Now I'm on 4.3.2 / 01.59 !

Glad to hear it

Ultrasnow fixes that signal bar issue, you get it since you have a lower baseband on 4.3.2.

I'm in the same situation you were in except im on 4.2.1. I know the signal bar is a cosmestic thing but its still annoying and i didn't want to install ultrasnow cause i heard it drains the battery but from what i'm hearing from you its not too bad? how's the battery life on standby and such? thanks

Ultrasn0w no issues so far with facetime, mms vvm nothing.
Ultrasn0w has been great to me ever since.
I once in a while have had the cellular no data issue, but that can be easily fixed by rebooting the phone and resetting network settings.
I am going to try updating to 4.3.3 now.
Wish me luck!
Oh and ever since 4.3.2 the battery has been really nice to me!
With notifications on I can have a full day of battery and still be at 70% ish. Touch wood!
