Error 1015: Cant fix it?
I have an iPhone 3Gs with no SHSH. I upgraded my iTunes to 10.2.2 and am trying to restore to official iOS4.3.2 from iTunes but I keep getting the error 1015. I opened notepad as administator and removed that apple line from it and saved, exited notepad, exited itunes, restarted pc, and tried to officially update to iOS4.3.2 but still get the same error. Anyone have a fix? I've looked over google but there is nothing about it, only fixes for AFTER i've JB it which i dont need yet. I just want to upgrade to 4.3.2 officially. It's pissing me off and Im gonna freaking break the thing.
PS: phone is being detected in recovery mode (also tried kick out of recovery) but I still get the itunes + cable logo.

Modifying your hosts wont help that error on a iPhone 3GS. There are two possibilites you are getting that when restoring to 4.3.2.
1: You have baseband 6.15 on your iPhone (iPad baseband).
2: Your baseband is corrupt so when it gets to the part in itunes where it would normally flash the baseband it is failing.
Solution: Use snowbreeze 2.6 to make a custom 4.3.2 and restore to that. Then you can check what your baseband is after the restore.

I am quite certain that you do have iPad BB, if you do , eventhough you don't need unlock, you still need to install Ultrasn0w to get signal on your 3GS.

I have the same problem. I'm on iphone 3gs and it was jailbroken for about 5months, I try to unjailbreak it so I restore it using iTunes and keep getting 1015 error. I've tried iReb and tinyumbrella to exit recovery and to fix the error but still I'm stuck on recovery mode. Any suggestion 'bout this? Thanks

When you run Snowbreeze, use Expert mode, do not check the ipad bb update. If you want to hactivate it, you can check that option. Once build, it will be placed on your desktop.
Make sure you have the latest itunes installed as well.
Let say you are now at firmware 4.1 and wants to restore to 4.3.2, you don't need to use the DFU pwner from Snowbreeze.
Run Redsn0w RC6 and browse to stock 4.1 ipsw ( you have to download separately )
Make sure you run redsn0w in xp2 compatibility mode.
Check only the option : Put iphone into DFU mode only.
Perform this action by correct timing, and a message will say DFU done.
Using Redsn0w to get your iphone into DFU mode is very crucial, as it uses Geohot's Exploit to be able to restore custom firmware through this itunes.
Now at this point , your iphone is black (DFU mode already achieved )
Now run Itunes : shift + restore to Snowbreeze_4.3.2.ipsw already placed on your desktop.
I just finished restoring my 3gs from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 using Snowbreeze and it works flawlessly. With the updated Ultrasn0w 1.2.2 , you don't need Ultrasn0w fixer anymore. I am now getting 4 bars signals from this updated Ultrasn0w. Good LuckLast edited by iYeow; 04-24-2011 at 08:11 AM.

Make sure to not hactivate it unless you absolutely need to as doing so can cause push notification and battery drain issues.

Now i finally got itunes to restore my 4.3.2 custom firmwarenfor 3gs and itunes said that all factory settings were restores so success. Now, since i have abaolutely no charge, i cant turn it on. I left it in the usb, and tried the outlet but it wont charge, iphone recognizes i have the chargwr on but battery wont go up. Any idea?

Try changing USB cord or plug directly onto power outlet or use another USB port. SB will not cause your iPhone not to charge. Mine works perfect.
Do a hard reset : hold both button until it reboots
Did you ever have battery losing power real fast before the restore?Last edited by iYeow; 04-24-2011 at 06:38 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
