    Unhappy JB 3GS on 4.2.1-Can I restore to 4.2.1?

Hello all. I JB'd on 4.2.1 Monday. It's been 2 days. Still getting This device is in the pending TSS queue in Cydia. Not sure if blobs are truly saved yet, and even if they are, can I restore to 4.2.1? I have read where you can't unless Apple is signing the version on which you JB'd. So at best, I would be able to restore only on 4.3.2, as this is current version Apple is signing. Is this the correct interpretation? AND how can I truly be sure my blobs are/have been saved in Cydia server?

    You are correct.

To check for your SHSHs, use TinyUmbrella from thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com to your computer and click "Save SHSHs"

View the log to see what it reports.

Yeah, I tried that yesterday...I got an error saying something about JMV or Java or something...Didn't work. This is a "work" laptop, so I have to watch what I install, and I may not have something that needs...Standard company builds and such...I was going to try it on my home machine last night, but forgot and fell asleep...hopefully I can try it tonight..but doesn't TU only check/save locally? I wouldn't know what to do in the event of a restore after that if I ever need to...Let me know. Thanks!

^TU requires Java. No way around it. If you can't update the laptop, try a different computer.

Yeah, I have Java 1.5.0_22...Not sure why it was complaining...Error says 'No JVM could be found on your system. Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 32-bit JDK or JRE or download a JRE from www.java.com'...Like I said, I'll try it again tonight on home machine...Thanks.

Sorry all...should have reported back. I loaded java 1.6.22 and TU worked fine...I have all blobs from 4.1(which is interesting as this is a new replacement unit from apple store), and everything from 4.3.2-4.3.4 and 5 betas 1-3...sucks cuz every time I wanna run TU I have to deinstall java 1.5.22, install 1.6, run TU, then reverse it cuz I have a pc app that won't work on 1.6...oh well...thanks All.

Guess what all! This is now possible. There is a new program called iFaith out there that will take the blobs off the current OS that u r currently running, and create a signed OS of your current OS so u can restore to it!! Yea! I still have 4.2.1. I havnt had to restore yet but I now have the FW to do it! Just hope it works if I ever have to use it.

xtacy...... Yesterday I tried iFaith 1.1 on my 3GS 4.2.1. It got stuck --- did not work. Same as twice before.

Yesterday afternoon I download a fresh version from the official site. Strange, hash sum's did NOT match. Still version 1.1.

    Bingo ... it worked.....

My new motto: Don't trust saved copies or version numbers. Get the latest before starting.
