Default A potential n00b question about upgrading.

Hi I'm new on the forums, registered to post a review of a theme I bought.

I see the 4.3.2 update is out and now untethered, but I have a question to ask about upgrading a jailbroken iPhone via iTunes.

If you upgrade a jailbroken iOS device, do you lose all of the tweaks and jailbroken data on there such as the Appsync mobileinstallation patch, and any mobile substrate patches? I can only imagine the update restores these to an updated version, unpatched ofc, on top of the original patched version, but can you just upgrade, then rejailbreak and all will be back to normal? Or is the only/best way to restore, sync all music and apps back on, then rejailbreak, then reinstall all personal tweaks? Seems a bit long winded but if it's the only way then fair enough..

I hope this made sense, and thanks in advance!

you will lose all of your jailbreak stuff. but if you purchased any jailbreak apps, you can redownload them for free. also if you do a backup before restoring in itunes, then restore your backup info after restoring the phone it will save most of your settings in your jailbreak apps.

for example, i use multicleaner, after restoring from backup, then jailbreaking, then reinstalling multicleaner, the app was already set the way i like it.

the bottom line is seeing if it is worth it to you. if your on 4.3.1 i wouldn't bother upgrading to 4.3.2, but maybe if your on 4.0-4.1 it would be worth it

also when you redownload your JB packages, it will give you the latest versions, you don't have to redownload every patch, and please keep in mind, talk of piracy (appsync) is frowned upon here
