Default iPhone 3GS with 05.13.04, 4.3.2 and unlock

    Hi there,

I've jailbroken my iPhone 3GS with 05.13.04 firmware using snowbreeze while retaining my baseband. After installing UltraSnow, it didn't connect to my carrier.

I've read that to get unlock on 3GS, you need to go to the iPad baseband. Just want to check that is the case.

Anyone know if this situation would be permanent, or if there would be a fix coming eventually?

For the time being, yes, that is correct. If you need an unlock, at the moment you need the iPad baseband. Bear in mind though all the implications of doing so

    ^ everything he said
Right now you should consider it permanent. There may be a chance in the future to change it but I wouldn't count on it

    Thanks for the quick replies.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. I guess when I need the unlock (in about a month or so) if the situation hasn't resolved I'll just roll back to one of my earlier firmwares with my stored SHSH.

    Thanks again

    Default unlock on 5.13.04

    hey guys,

apologies, but i still find it extremely confusing. especially from what I've read on this page:
Unlock iPhone 4.3.2 with Ultrasn0w 1.2.2 [Tutorial] | Redmond Pie

So if I'm on iPhone 3gs 4.0.1 and baseband 05.13.04, can i simply preserve baseband and update to 4.3.2 using snow breeze, and then install ultrasn0w??

    thanks a lot!

    Yes.

The latest version of UltraSn0w support 4.3.2 with my original baseband.
