Iphone 4 Non jailbroken will not Restore?????

So I have an Iphone 4 and its never been jail broken let alone tampered with. I tried to restore it to clear off all the previous users data and such. It will be used on ATT so upgraded firmware and baseband don't matter. Well it will do nothing but return the error " unable to restore, device is uneligible for this build". Things I've done

1. Restored directly though itunes and from Apple.
2. Downloaded current firmware from FelixBruns and restored using it.


any help would be greatly appreciated.

You've never used this computer to jb or save SHSHs with right?

When you said in number 1, did you click "upgrade" or "restore" or was there no option for the "upgrade" button?

Did you ensure your iTunes is up to date?

update to itunes that just came out today(10.2.2, i think..or was it 10.1.2?)

make sure your host file is not set to sauriks server (google it) and ensure your trying to go to 4.3.2

Ive used this mac to jailbreak and save shsh but only for other devices.
No option for upgrade it was greyed out. I've done the apple restore and also the restore where I choose what firmware to restore from.
Updated my itunes yes.

I've tried to edit my host file in the past but can't get past the password portion of the process so I know its not edited.

I tried it again today and now I'm actually getting an error code. Its "1013"?

I followed this video and it was def. the easiest one I found and it fixed it.

unless you edit that host file to not point at sauriks server, you wont be able to restore... so get that password entered/ get firmware umbrella abd in advanced uncheck "set hosts to cydia on exit".. tho i think you'll need pass still so....
