iTouch 2g Blackra!n to Untethered Jailbreak

Hi guys, ill try to make this as quick as I can for my first post.

I have a jailbroken itouch (2g - MC086) via blackra1n / firmware 3.1.2
It has been a long time since i've looked at the latest jailbreaks and iOS upgrades etc so I am very behind one what the latest versions are.

Could anyone point me in the right direction to upgrade to the latest iOS 4 with an untethered jailbreak.

I have already researched around but would prefer a solid answer from people who know what they're doing (You guys )

you can update to 4.2.1 in itunes then use greenpois0n to jailbreak.

This is exactly what I did to my son's iTouch 2G. Easy and painless.

i did this onmine and i got the loader but it always crashes nack to the springboard
