    Default Upgrade to 4.3.1/2

    Hi,

Basically, i have an iPhone 4 on 4.1, been saving it at this version because i've been hearing since September that the unlock was "just around the corner". Anyone keeping up with the unlock scene knows how well that turned out BUT, just incase, i dont want to take any chances, so i want to upgrade to 4.3.1/2 (which ever is easiest). So, what i'm trying to say is, can someone please post a COMPLETE "how to" guide on how i can upgrade to the specified firmware WHILST preserving my baseband. Im aware there are several guides on preserving baseband, but i want to be absolutely sure, because i read somewhere about Apple not signing the hashes anymore of particular firmwares.... or something.
Could someone please point me in the right direction, thank you very much in advance.

Safest way to preserve baseband is with custom firmware made with pwnage tool or snowbreeze. What SHSH do you have?

Then you can make a custom firmware with one of the tools I said before. Either a custom 4.2.1 or 4.3.1, your choice.

WOW got an issue straight from the beginning!
Opened up latest version of Tiny Umbrella and it says "Cannot Start TSS Service DO NOT TRY RESTORING YOUR DEVICE!!! Your hosts file is not writable!" .
    Suggestions?

And you tried right-clicking on tiny umbrella and choosing to run it as administrator?

Something may be on your computer that is blocking it. Skype, teamviewer, virus program etc.

Hmm ok i'll check that. I do have a thought, im sure i've used TU before, so the hosts files definitely have been altered. Is their any way of RESETTING the hosts files ? Like, so they were back to their default nature? Then i could try opening up TU again and letting it start from scratch
