iPhone 3g dont know where to start
So my friend got picked up a 3g thats hes trying to use for tmobile and i told him i could prob do it since i once had a 3g nearly 2 years ago that i had jailbroken and unlocked for tmobile.
**** seems pretty different now though and idk where i should even pick up.
for starters the phones freshly wiped and wants to be activated with itunes and a sim, is there any way around this that doesnt need an at&t sim as im the only people i know with at&t including me have i4's with the microsims.
any help appreciated, thanks

Greenpoison wont work on a iPhone 3G.
Do you know what firmware the iPhone is on right now? You can download f0recast to tell you what firmware and baseband you currently have.

Yes, you can jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.6rc12. Ultrasnow does not work on that baseband though. What bootloader does f0recast say you have?

Ok, that means you cant downgrade baseband. Only way to unlock it would be to update to the iPad baseband with redsnow. You will lose GPS if you do this though.

redsnow 0.9.6rc12 can jailbreak and install iPad baseband for you. You will also need a copy of the 4.2.1 firmware for your iPhone.
