Jailbreak a downgraded iPhone 4
I previously had 4.1 on my iPhone 4. I went ahead and upgraded to 4.3.2 knowing I could downgrade back if I didn't like it (I have all my SHSH's saved with TU)
Now that I am back on 4.1, I can't find a single JB program that will work correctly.
Limera1n just "loads" and says it's finished, but I don't get the Cydia program.
The latest version of RedSnow just freezes on the uploading ramdisk part
GreenPo1son went through the entire process then when the phone booted up, I had a program called "Loader" but when I click that it does nothing.
What am I missing here?
I just tried the switching to XP3 trick for Redsnow and got past the uploading ram screen but then it froze at "rebooting"Last edited by General Klinger; 04-15-2011 at 06:43 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

-Google: Cydia.deb
-On your desktop, create 2 folders:
Cydia & AutoInstall (pay attention to capitalization)
-Place the Cydia.deb file in the AutoInstall folder
-Place the AutoInstall folder into the Cydia folder
-SSH into your phone
-Place the Cydia folder into:
/var/root/Media
*If you don't have the Media folder just create it.
-Final result will be this:
/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/Cydia.deb
REBOOT and you'll have the Cydia App on ur springboard!

So I don't have to jailbreak it at all? Seems quite easy to me

How am I suppose to SSH into my phone when I can't install the openSSH program from Cydia?
I have WinSCP and keep trying to connect, but it keeps saying "network error: connection refused"Last edited by General Klinger; 04-15-2011 at 07:46 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It's already jailbroken if you saw the Installer or Loader Apps.
When ur phone is 'jailbroken' it allows a person to gain ROOT access to the phone. Cydia is just a program for installing apps. You, technically, could have all your jailbroken apps install the way I told you without ever using Cydia.....but then you'd never know what's new or updated.
Do you understand now?

And where is the root located? I am not seeing the same as I would in WinSCP.
K, I got it now, but when I reboot my phone, the app isn't there. Everything is spelled correctly and is at the right filepath.
Still can't get it. Are you sure I am in the right folder? Google said this
/private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
Either way, it's not working.Last edited by General Klinger; 04-15-2011 at 08:35 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It's already there. I've restored my phone 3 times and tried the different folders. Nothing seems to make Cydia appear. After I copy the files, I am just turning my phone off and back on again. Should I be doing something else?

Just realized ur not rebooting correctly. To reboot you must hold down the Power & Home button until you see the Apple logo appear. This can take up to 30 seconds.

It's suppose to be Cydia.deb when I copy it into the folder right? Because when I download the file, the C is lowercase. I rename it and copy it. is that right?
Just tried that way. No luck either
I am giving up for now. I will mess with it in the morning. I spent 4hrs trying to get this crap running correctly. I may just stuck with 4.3.2 and JB that.
Thanks for the assist though. I will play some more with it in the A.M.Last edited by General Klinger; 04-15-2011 at 09:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
